Relax in the knowledge that your special dog/s will be safe, exercised and allowed to relax in beautiful and comfortable surroundings.

What a special place! It's a playground heaven for our two who have never been to day care before. They get the socialisation we want for them along with lovely walks and downtime when they need it. Thank you Ross and Rachel for taking such good care of them both

THE
TEAM
Dog welfare, training and behavioural assessments are led by Ross George BCCSDip.AdvCan Bhv., who has extensive experience in handling, training and competing with high drive, working and large breeds. As a certified canine behaviourist, his previous work in welfare kennels gives him the experience to not only understand but also to handle a plethora of breeds and issues, including those that have unresolved behavioural problems, or those that have been misunderstood and let down by other training methods. Dogs are sentient beings and Ross believes there is no one single way to train. Emphasis is put on strengthening the relationship between dog and owner. It is equally important to ensure the dog receives all the information available to it in order to allow educated decisions to be made and rewarded.

Ross has trained and competed in various dog sports including the Kennel Club Working Trials, Belgian GlobalRing and tracking with UK Tracking Dog Association. As well as being a registered judge, tracklayer and decoy, Ross has held committee positions and memberships with the Southern Alsatian Training Society and East Riding Working Trials Association. He has also been heavily involved with Surrey and East Anglia Working Trials Association in a competing, judging and decoying capacity.

Ross is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), the Pet Industry Federation (PIF), the Association of Responsible Dog Owners (ARDO) and a supporting member of the International Association Of Animal Behavioural Consultants (IAABC). As continual professional development Ross has also completed a course in dog law through the British College of Canine Studies and is looking to embark on further professional international certifications through the IACP.

Ross specialises in modifying problematic behaviour such as reactivity and fear aggression. He firmly believes that real life problems require real life solutions. Having owned and competed with high drive dogs, his current Dutch Herder, Sasha, has been the catalyst in driving his passion to further his professional development in behaviour modification and all aspects of dog training.

Charley Pilbro has a range of experience with large and working breeds as well as the smaller guests we see regularly in daycare. Having honed her handling skills through her dog walking experience, Charley assists in training sessions, behavioural assessments and is also a competent assistant decoy for our sports dog customers.

Currently studying for her Level 4 Advanced Canine Behavioural Diploma, Charley has great competency in understanding and managing canine behaviour, ensuring our daycare dogs are grouped and guided appropriately. Terry, her Boston Terrier, is very familiar with all our visitors, and can routinely be found playing in our several paddocks.
Rachel Whitby BSc (Hons) Medical Neuroscience, PGCert, M.Ost works alongside Ross to ensure the smooth running of The Doghouse. From senior management in the IT/telecoms industry, to neuroscience research and osteopathy, her career has certainly been varied.
Rachel works with passion and meticulous attention to detail. She has an industrious drive which ensures streamlined functionality at a high level and standard that sets The Doghouse apart.

Rachel is no stranger to boisterous, strong dog breeds. She has an immense passion for her two Rottweilers, Denzil and Marlene (the former being the catalyst to the inception of The Doghouse). Her dedication and time spent with both dogs have ensured that they have become perfect examples of their breed and a credit to her.

Jasmin (Jas) Tilley, BSc (Hons) Psychology & Counselling
Jas has gained a passion and love for dogs of all sizes and breeds through the many that her and her family rescued and rehomed during her childhood. As well as gaining handling experience through her dog walking and dog sitting services over the years.
Whilst Jas was at University studying Psychology and Counselling, she decided to complete her research study dissertation into the topic of how dogs impact and influence owner wellbeing, and is now in the process of co-authoring a research paper for publication, titled; Dogs as a gateway to the good life: using thematic analysis to explore dog ownership and human well-being.

Clodagh Thomas is the newest member of the team at The Doghouse. Over the past three years Clodagh has been involved in both dog walking and dog sitting businesses, where she has been able to increase her experience working with dogs. Working here at The Doghouse, Clodagh can utilise her passion for canine behaviourism and training. She is always ready to get involved and has quickly become a valued member of the team.

Through her prior dog walking experience, Clodagh has handled many different breeds ranging from larger breeds such as Chinese Red Dogs to the very smallest Dachsunds.
